Cold Lava is a limited edition series I created to celebrate not only The Parks 150th anniversary, but also one of the most beautiful features in the park. Obsidian Cliff is the glossy black result of an ancient volcanic eruption, when the extremely hot lava cooled rapidly against the earth, and then during glacial times was eroded and exposed columns of rock. The First Nations people who lived in what is now Yellowstone used this obsidian for spear points, arrowheads, cutting tools, and other necessary items. I have created this series to honor the First Nations People and the beautiful land they inhabited. (series is limited to 150 pieces all signed and numbered)
